I hope that you and yours are well.
We’re in the middle of a mini heatwave here in France – there are 7 cats snoozing in shady corners, 6 ducks dawdling, 5 chickens chilling, 4 goats gnawing, 3 donkeys dozing, 2 dogs dreaming on cushions in the courtyard and yours truly making sure they are all cool and watered! And before you go saying ‘there she goes again with the animal family, taking in even more furry friends’ – the goats and the donkeys belong to my neighbours, I am babysitting! And I also have way more chickens but that wouldn’t have worked as well!
Summer is arriving in style here, it officially starts 22 June, and with it comes The Good Life France Summer magazine! Meanwhile, I am off to Bordeaux this week with CroisiEurope (I love their cruises!) – I’ll be learning about the wines of the region, visiting vineyards and historic towns and villages including Saint-Emilion, and the city of Bordeaux. I get home for a few days with just time to clean the chicken coops out before I head to Burgundy. I’ll be visiting Beaune, where I’ll be joining a very special event in the King’s Chamber of the famous Hospices de Beaune, flying over the vineyards and checking out the fabulous new Cité de la Gastronomie in Dijon.
